PUTTUR - ANDHRA PRADESH

Puttur is a town in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Telugu is the Local Language here. It is known for a traditional method of bandaging bone fractures. The agrarian community is now progressing in education through several colleges and institutions in this region. Major cultural landmark near puttur is an ornate hilltop temple ofTirumalaVenkateswarain Tirupati. It’s visited by tens of millions of pilgrims annually.

Chitti Babu with his family serves in Puttur for many years. His passion is to share the Gospel among less reached out higher caste people. Through consistent evangelistic effort and counseling ministry many are now given a chance to hear the Good News. Free tuition to children, youth development programs and acts of kindness to the weaker section in the community has been fruitful in bringing many lives to Christ

The congregation is a collection of believers from 3 villages namely Puthur, GN Kandriga and Eesalapuram. The church gathers in a rented facility and attracts many hostel students from colleges situated in puthur through various events. In spite of the oppositions believers are growing strongly in the Lord.New outreach center in Tirupati has opened doors for gospel among high caste Hindus. Children ministries and free tuition centers have paved a bridge to meet the needs of the community.

Lord has granted a surplus harvest of souls, but the challenges for new believers from their own relatives and community is also on the increase. The social stratum based on caste is the biggest challenge for ministries here.

Pray for Chitti as he is determined to take the gospel message to wider community through television and social media programs.  Regular teaching and training are given to local leaders to serve God effectively.
